Any other pickups considered before reserving your CT?

GM is about to put out some amazing EV trucks if their specs hold true. And there's no reason to think specs will be off from what they say judging by the Hummer EV. I'd get this any day over a CT... https://www.gmc.com/future-vehicles/sierra-ev-denali

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Profitability has always been a goal of Tesla. It's interesting to read comments like this that are lacking the big picture. A company runs on PROFITS, not rainbows and unicorns. Go read a biography of Musk if you want a better picture of where he is coming from. It will be well worth your time.

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Seeing as you have zero insight into their production issues, your comment is a bit whiny. Yes, they are a for profit company with shareholders. Duh. They will still make awesome and revolutionary products that change the world, just like Apple.

What we 100% know about the Cybertruck

or a place for folks to share all their mods and experiences! I have a Ford Focus SE and there are multiple groups for that car, as there are many versions and it is highly customizable with aftermarket parts and such. ?? like this… https://www.focusfanatics.com/forums/ side note, 350 - 500 hp...

    What would prevent your purchase?

Nice summary. Thanks! Saved me the time of pouring over the whole thread. I guess I fall into the #10 + #6 categories. If someone comes out with a reasonable electric truck sooner than Tesla that has decent range (300+ miles), I'd probably go for that. Then maybe a few years down the line...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

Great points. And this mirrors, or perhaps is an extension of, the sunk costs or stranded assets (as they are commonly referred to), of the oil and gas industry in exploration, development and maintenance of hydrocarbon resources and infrastructure.

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

True to some extent. I have heard of several EV manufacturers taking over existing plants that were either not in use, or winding down. So that lowers the barrier a little. Also, nothing stops them from building factories from scratch at the same speed as we see Tesla's plant in Austin for...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

Great points. Ford is coing on strong in some of these segments. I follow some van life vids on YouTube and was wondering if you could do that with an EV van. Guess what? Ford is making them for 2022. The very same vans that some vanlifers use, the Ford Transit. I’m sure the range will suck...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

LOL! Nice. You basically just agreeded with what I’ve said in some of my prior comments. And I’m glad you have the qualifications to judge my responses. It warms the cockles of my heart. ? As to your questions, here’s the answer. There is insufficient information at this time. The points...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

I don’t disagree with most of your thoughts, though I will point out two issues. Range is not static. I’d expect it to increase at all price levels over time as technology matures and cost per mile drops. At a certain point that will cease to be a major factor for most buyers, just like range...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

Glad to be provoking such an interesting discussion. ? And I am super glad Tesla is “insanely profitable”. Simple FACT though… Tesla alone will NOT be able to satisfy WORLDWIDE demand for EVs. Where will all those other EVs come from?? Also, will all the hundreds of start ups and current...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

True in the short term, but not in the mid to long term. Soon EVs will be competing against other EVs as states and countries mandate (as they are starting to do) that new vehicle purchases must be EVs, and as Tesla continues to make appealing EVs they further legitimize EVs as a desirable...

TheStreet: Tesla Has One Big Problem

The links I provided would prove otherwise. And that was with a simple 1 minute google search. There is nothing I said that was wrong, it was just counter to some folks opinions. I didn't say anything bad about Tesla. Tesla is obviously the dominant player right now, but they simply will not...

Nothing gloomy or negative about it, just a dose of reality for the fan boys/gals. ;) I follow the EV and alternative energy industry pretty closely. I am a big Tesla fan, and an even bigger SpaceX fan!

    Honey bees at Giga Texas

Hyperbole from Musk. Imagine that! That factory has a huge footprint, like all auto factories. Every person having a car, whether EV or ICE, has major ecological impacts. An "ecological paradise" involves EV mass transit and getting away from the desire of every individual to have their own...
