That's a bit of a stretch to call something like this unethical. Just because someone's taking advantage of a misaligned supply and demand curve doesn't mean it's unethical. So some rich people are going to have to pay $140,000 instead of $100,000 for their luxury truck. No one's feeling sorry...
The line is the line, businesses are going to buy these and if you were late to the reservation party then you're just going to have to wait. It's not their fault, you don't get to cut just because you don't like who reserved faster than you.
show me the law that prohibits this in conditions that don't include emergency scenarios or disasters. Do you know that dealerships charge double for popular models at times? How is that different?
Do you complain just as loudly when Tesla does this themselves? They change prices all the time in response to demand. Are you as actively protesting dealerships that do the same thing? This guy is basically just acting as the dealership that is missing in the Tesla supply chain. Welcome to...
We all want to live in a free market society until it doesn't suit us or we become too jealous of someone with better entrepreneurial instincts than us! I think you should sell them for whatever you can get for them.....that's what Tesla does with it's constant price changes.
We're talking about the quad motor, not tri motor. And yes, it's not that crazy. Rivian just increased the price of their trucks by 10% and Ford did the same thing in less than a year since introducing the lightning. The tri motor cyber truck was priced 3 years ago before any of the inflation...
I think the big driving factor for Tesla making a quad motor cyber truck is the fact that Rivian is already making a quad motor truck and Tesla needs to up their game.
A lot of good thoughts that you've put together here... However, I don't think there's any way a quad motor is under $100,000. I personally think the top of the line quad motor will be close to $130,000
Are you going to be more upset when Tesla charges $130,000 for each launch edition Cybertruck or when resellers sell them for over $200,000 that first year?
Except that it will likely have a bigger battery, more motors, more range and a far more capable suspension and drivetrain system. But yeah, slam me for making up an arbitrary benchmark to compare it to. It's silly for me to think that something with more complexity, capability and components...
You're exactly spot on... The only thing I would slightly disagree with is the starting price for the launch edition you're talking about. I think the initial quad motor cyber truck is going to be closer to $130,000. There's no reason for The premiere, totally decked out cybertruck it to be...
Also, a note about statistics... If you want to know what the average person is paying for a car, you don't look at the average new car sales price. You actually need to look at the median price. But the press never reports on median price because it is always less than the average or mean price...
I'm just trying to respond to other people's criticism ,but I agree people are off down to rabbit hole that doesn't matter.
Tell you what, I'll bet you a beer that the quad motor cyber truck is more than a base model x when it debuts finally
So your argument is that Tesla is currently the right car company for the average person When they're cheapest car possible equals the average new car sales price? That means the rest of their cars are all more expensive than the average new car price. Mercedes offers a stripped down model below...
