Small world! I split my time between the Bay Area (Fremont) and San Diego (La Mesa) and used my Fremont address in hopes of getting any favor / priority for being so close to the factory - even though I know its not being manufactured in Fremont- figured there would be some logistical advantage...
I saw a few socal folks beat me to a vin. I think SD is a big enough market that the shipping logistics favor it!just my 2 cents and hope! I have an awd drive ordered for down there (long after initial pre orders) and will be keeping fingers crossed
Used my parents address in Fremont for the initial order - they live up the road from the Tesla factory (knew that manufacturing was in Texas but figured it wouldn’t hurt my odds to use Fremont vs my address in San Diego)
Dublin location assigned for delivery which is great! Bought my dads...
VIN Assigned!
Non Employee and Non Celebrity (though that’s not really as noteworthy at this point)
Day 1 preorder and Dec 8th invite / order.
Bay Area - Fremont address on order, pickup location of Dublin assigned
As someone who checks frequently for the same reason, it’s nice that it’s already pinned. Unfortunately, not enough people think to navigate before making a new “where’s my vin / has anyone received a cyberbeast update”
The California storms have me itching for updates more than ever.
First...
That was not my experience during the refresh S rollout. The Fremont delivery center was calling folks to offer reservation holders to see if they were willing to accept the rejected car and at times you could catch one in inventory.
Again, not disputing that what should or shouldn't happen or...
so far I’ve taken delivery of 4 of my teslas at the service center itself and had 2 delivered to my home
2 of the home deliveries were not during a new model ramp / were for existing inventory vehicles
Absolutely and from my experience during the model s plaid vs Lr refresh rollout a few years ago - it gets even more fun and random when Tesla starts releasing cars into inventory / let the delivery centers start freelancing.
Going to be interesting to see the reaction on here if / when cyber...
a few points of data:
ordered on the 8th and reflected as such in the order agreement but the app says 9th
I haven’t checked this diligently but I think they definitely did update the delivery location on my beast order
To maybe add some much needed perspective - if you think Tesla is bad at communicating or delivering on a consumer facing timeline then you may not have ever dealt with other car manufacturers and the nonsense of their timelines, shit communication, and blatant disregard for their customer on...
For those waiting on Beasts- looks like trucks with the light bar (which I’m presuming are beasts and not AWD optioned with them) spotted in the factory lots
As someone who tracks even the simplest Amazon prime package out of whatever neurotic tendencies exist between my ears… unironically - there is a bit of joy seeing progress and data
My theory is that that the beasts are not ordered / converted at a high enough rate to warrant Tesla having a...
