seeing this with pretty much everyone

dont know if there's possibly a cutt-off time during a day where it gets accounted for the next day, or if no matter what time of day it's not registered until the next day no matter
What I figured and I’m going to guess it has little to no bearing on allocation regardless

yeah, i think folks at tesla are a whole lot less wound up about the details of any one truck as the potential owner of the truck is
Absolutely and from my experience during the model s plaid vs Lr refresh rollout a few years ago - it gets even more fun and random when Tesla starts releasing cars into inventory / let the delivery centers start freelancing.

Going to be interesting to see the reaction on here if / when cyber trucks start popping up on the new inventory website due to someone not accepting delivery - no immediate match for a local delivery - and outstanding out of area reservations still waiting

Can you point to videos of it being tested and demonstrated on the Cybertruck like they are?
a few points of data:

ordered on the 8th and reflected as such in the order agreement but the app says 9th

I haven’t checked this diligently but I think they definitely did update the delivery location on my beast order

I’m thinking the 12/8 12/9 discrepancy we’re seeing is because we placed the order on 12/8 Pacific Time but in Texas time it was already 12/9. I ordered at 11:15 pm PT.

Yup, just tossing my data point onto the pile of evidence that seems to suggest exactly that

My order date is the same as yours 8/9 of Dec. However, I notice yours says Freemont delivery and then underneath “will contact if home delivery is available.” Now on mine reservation, I just have my address under delivery address so I assume that means it’s eligible for home delivery? I have not checked before so not sure if this is new or old data.

I believe mine has always said that at the bottom though I admit, I haven’t revisited that page too often

so far I’ve taken delivery of 4 of my teslas at the service center itself and had 2 delivered to my home

2 of the home deliveries were not during a new model ramp / were for existing inventory vehicles

Yeah I have no idea if home delivery is a good sign or not. Maybe they haven’t assigned me a delivery center yet? Maybe they actually will deliver to my home? Saga continues

Miramar delivery? Like at the Service Center? For AWD or CB?

We fondly remember our Model X delivery in 2017 at the Miramar Service Center. That delivery was in a special bay. Our delivery specialist went over every inch of the car and every menu screen. We spent about four hours at Miramar and was introduced to the entire Service Team... several are good friends to this day and have made each service visit extra special despite all the growth and changes over the years. Looking forward to a delivery in Miramar if that materializes.
Those were the good days. I remember picking up my 2018 Model X from the Mira Mar delivery center. Was in delivery bay and they were so welcoming. Took all the time to walk through the new X and answer any questions we may have. I personally probably knew too much, but my wife loved that type of service.

When we finally drove out, all the free Tesla staff stood outside on each side of the driveway and clap and cheer as we drove away. Was very Apple like. :)

Was sad that the Mira Mar deliver center went away. I dislike the Mira Mar service center. The parking lot is so tight. The last time my car was fixed, it was delivered with scratches on the paint. Likely due to someone walking by and having to squeeze between the tightly parked cars. From that day on, I have been taking delivery and service at the Carlsbad location.

Just learned that the CT is being delivered to Mira Mar. I just called in to request it be changed to Carlsbad instead. The Service Rep said it should be possible since the CT hasn't left Austin yet. But he will call back with a confirmation.

If some doesn't accept delivery, it doesn't go to new inventory, it get's reassigned.

And that's one of the reasons why time from VIN to pickup is really short. VINs aren't assigned by the factory, they get assigned once the truck is on the transport and assigned to the delivery center. If it doesn't get accepted, it goes right back into the queue and assigned to the next person.

Keep reading to the very bottom line on the page.

"We'll let you know if you're eligible for home delivery when it's time to schedule."

That was not my experience during the refresh S rollout. The Fremont delivery center was calling folks to offer reservation holders to see if they were willing to accept the rejected car and at times you could catch one in inventory.

Again, not disputing that what should or shouldn't happen or how Tesla will handle things this time. As stated earlier - I don't think Tesla is as concerned about adhering to any rhyme or rhythm with regards to making sure people get cars in-line with their order time. It is much more in their corporate interest to get any and every car delivered to a qualified buyer to hit numbers for shareholders and earning reports.

I had Tesla deliver a model x to me at 10pm on December 31st because the delivery center's only agenda at the time was to hit year end numbers.

I picked up a Model S refresh Plaid in-place of my LR reservation because buyer rejected delivery / couldn't finish payment after car was at delivery center.

The following week, Model S refresh vehicles began popping up in inventory - I believe there was a few reddit threads on the matter - similar to this forum and thread - trying to make sense of all of it.

That's all to say, once the car is ready, its been my experience that Tesla will get it to the next person willing and able to pay with the least amount of effort required by the center / company.

I don't think that you can really compare the Model S rollout with the Cybertruck. I'd be surprised if there were thousands on the list and it would have been quite possible for a delivery center to "run out of list" with nothing to be done except put the vehicle in inventory.

I'm comparing to the Model 3 and Model Y rollouts in which there was a humongous demand.
