The fix for my problem, which was slightly different from the OPs, was a service call to recalibrate the front cameras. I fully take responsibility for causing it because while I was fitting my digital rear view mirror (see another thread on the topic), I had all of the roof console and camera...
Interesting. We did around 2k miles before it showed up. How long did the camera calibration take? It’s a sit and wait job or leave it a few days job? (I also need the accelerator pedal done but from what I’ve seen, that shouldn’t take long)
Do you have any warnings on the dash / any error codes?
We are having a similar issue, although this hasn’t changed the way the truck drives for us. I have two warnings - APP_w264 and APP_w142
When I do a camera calibration, for about the first 50 miles I have nothing. Then slowly a few things...
the wire doesn’t go in the cabin. It stays on the outside of the truck. It runs along the window rubber, then down the door jamb (on the outside) There are 2 rubbery flexible panels there that you can push the wire behind. The wire then goes under the front of the rear fender to the wheel arch...
Agreed having the camera higher up would be better. Having it on the back of a light bar sounds like a good idea. To power your lightbar, I assume you are going to tap into the preinstalled 48V feed in one of the roof channels? Assuming the cameras are part of the light bar, they would be...
In a different mirror model, yes

You would have to validate the waterproofing of the other camera though as it looks like it’s designed for interior/cabin
Agreed. That’s why I made sure my cheap solution is reversible. I would likely pay more for a better overall solution also
I think if I only drove the CT, I would also get used to it. My situation is I drive multiple vehicles, and they all have rear view mirrors, except the CT, and my muscle...
Cheap and cheerful solution.

I used the online service manual to work out how to remove the interior trim panels, the window seals and rear wheel arch liner. In summary, you don’t need any tools to...
No. The theory is the crates will only be in the bed when there are dogs in them, so the weight of the 80lb dogs will keep the crates weighted down. We’ll see if that theory holds out.
It’s a good idea after an accident to grab the usb stick from the car then at least you have your evidence, even if the data in the car disappears for whatever reason. You can then decide what to do with your evidence……
Where is your dashcam footage? My understanding is if a Tesla is involved in any type of crash, it automatically saves the dashcam footage into a folder (called "Events" ? ) that it never overwrites, so the footage is safe. (At least that's what my 2022 MS LR did when I was rear ended last year)
The purchase of my CT was approved by the board (wife) because I told her she could use it to carry her 2x 80lb Belgian Mals around in it. By some complete miracle of chance, the dog crates we have (Ruff Land Kennels X-Large Kennel) are an absolutely perfect fit in the bed, 2 side by side.
They...
I’ve only had positive comments. Most people are really curious because even here in the CA Bay Area, they are still a rare sighting.
I had an amazing experience in the small town I live in (Morgan Hill) where I met a guy riding a horse. The guy must have been 100+. He got off his horse, stared...
