I agree, the PP tax is annoying. That said, not sure Maryland is actually better from a taxation standpoint. For example, on this website:
https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-highest-lowest-tax-burden/20494
Maryland has the 9th highest “tax burden” where Virginia is 27th.
The original estimate was a straight 90% of the price paid for the new vehicle. That is how Loudoun does it for new vehicles. My issue with that process is I am being taxed on things like FSD, something that if added on after the purchase would never get taxed.
This year, my assessment went up...
Maybe you meant drive their Cybertruck (which I agree is next level in terms of risk with a young driver and I have not allowed my kids to drive mine). As for Teslas in general, that's all I let my kids drive. They can be speed/power limited, they are easily monitored through the app for random...
Just saw this article about a new rear camera on the 3 and Y to address similar problems.

Interesting, the article mentions that "you’ll soon be able to 3D print and install a similar design...
The X has the auto-open feature, maybe it is something that could be pushed to the trucks in a software update?
From the X manual:
"Model X doors are electrically powered. When you approach Model X carrying a key, the doors automatically unlock. The front doors open when you press the door...
Says trucks manufactured between Nov 6 2023 and July 30 2024. NHTSA report attached. Says 2431 trucks and potentially 1% of those vehicles have the defect.
I purchased a spare tire/wheel and have been using it to get some wear on it and rotate with the OE wheels. I struggled the first time because the wheel/tire set up is HEAVY (about a hundred pounds) and it is difficult to align that much weight precisely onto the lug posts. I discovered this...
I'm curious to hear from other Cybertruck owners around Virginia how much your new trucks are being "assessed" at for the purposes of Virginia's annual personal property tax. I am in Loudoun County and ended up with a "Taxable Value" of $91,787. This will lead to a tax bill of $3,576.76 for 2024...
Generally these tools are marketed/designed for first responders to rescue trapped victims from the outside. For example, the Glas-master's saw has cutting teeth that direct the shards back towards the rescuer (away from the trapped victim in a vehicle). Also the amount of force needed to swing...
Lifeline Fire looks nice, pricey for what it is but definitely cool (and more stowable than the Glas-Master. I would love to see how well either of these work on the Cybertruck's side windows since the initial penetration is so important (and may be more difficult on the the truck's laminated...
