I saw that thread a while back but Google maps knows exactly where my house is. It's only my truck that can't quite find it. navigation in general is pretty good but it does like to send me through tiny back roads whenever possible.
Is driveway to driveway actually what other people see? I have a long gravel driveway and it never worked. I would engage FSD and it would move about 10 feet then stop because it was confused. if I tried going home it would get a few hundred feet from my house then just stop in the road.
I'm in Tennessee with tons of hills and winding roads. Going too fast will very quickly see you off the road here. Without manual speed control it's too risky for me to use.
My truck consistently gets the speed limits wrong to the point that I gave up on FSD. Every time I leave my house it thinks my neighborhood speed limit is 55!
All I want is powershare to help back up my house during a blackout. No peak shaving or exporting. I'm like a ton of people with a fixed rate for power at all times so all that extra stuff does literally nothing for me. That is all powershare was initially marketed as and it's still all I want...
Also worth noting that powershare with powerwall and solar has been "coming soon" since the trucks release. Every 6 months they say it's delayed again with no reason given.
My understanding is that there are two 24 amp charging circuits but I don't know if it's set up so one circuit has to be fully used before the second takes any load or if they always share the load. If it's the former then charging at 24 could be just as hard on it as 48 amps .
I'm wondering if higher ac charge rates are linked to higher rates of PCS failure. Do most people charge at 240V 48A?
I typically charge off solar at 240V 20A so that some of what my panels make goes into my powerwall instead of dumping everything into my truck. No indication of PCS failure for...
I'm at 0%. Taking away the manual speed limit is a deal breaker for me. As you can see I tried it a handful of times but it refused to do the speed I wanted so I quickly turned it off each time. I switched back to TACC only.
This seems like the opposite approach they should have taken. If they want to know why people choose what speed they do they should be looking at where the truck is and what is around it when the driver changes speed. NOT just guessing and seeing if the driver intervenes.
This behavior made me...
How did you even get a hold of someone? When I had my system installed I got the gateway 3v, then later decided to get solar +powerwall and had to get the v3 instead. I couldn't get a person to answer the phone when I went through their phone tree. So I've had my 3v sitting in it's box on the...
If it's off grid I would suggest learning how to diy it. By far the biggest cost of a solar install in the US is the labor. I've thought about making a small solar system connected to a ~10kwh battery to charge my truck and the rough cost I came up with was about 10k.
Tesla's advertising and FAQ about powershare gave me that idea. When I bought a FS powershare was explicitly said to be coming to powerwall owners in a few months.
Are they working on it though? I don't know. Again, literally the only info Tesla gives out is repeated delays. I love my truck...
I wasn't sold the idea of needing more work done to my house to have an inferior product. I was sold the idea that powershare will work in a few months with no effort required from me. The only thing I've seen from Tesla since then is repeated announcements of delays to powershare while they...
I just need it to work with my powerwall during an outage. That's it. Any bells and whistles do me no good because my utility doesn't have any convoluted pricing schemes. I pay a flat rate all the time like I'm sure a ton of people do.
