Omg AI is terrifying. That’s a pretty solid image. The truck needs to be adjusted while sitting on the suspension. One section makes that less obvious.
Noteworthy that Tesla recommends setting the alignment at medium height. I want to check the difference in toe specifically at low, medium...
That one is a little more complicated. Involves string and jackstands.
If you do the string and jackstands method you can get the toe angle sorted at the same time as the TA If that’s something that interests you.
In high school/early college I aligned cars at a small alignment shop. The OEM specs are almost always too lenient. Especially for Toe (which is most responsible for abnormal tire wear). I paid 270 IIRC at Tesla for an alignment. Next time I’ll likely just align it at home as I wasn’t thrilled...
I did! The day before the launch, when they scrubbed it I was flying down 100 to get home in time…for the cancellation. Lol.
Actual launch day I was here in time.
I recommend trying to come see one where they plan to return to the launch pad. The launches are cool but the return is mind...
Yep, I’m on the bay side.
hoping to get the “ok” for a shop so I can have more garage space. CT is living outside until then. The climate down here is impressively harsh.
Third (known good) gauge is needed to be sure. But it’s entirely possible the tire shops gauge was incorrect. It’s even plausible that both are incorrect.
If it was me; I’d drop the pressure to 50 in the truck if I wasn’t interested in checking with a known good gauge.
Let me preface with this: I live a few miles from Starbase, Tx on a hypersaline body of water known as the Laguna Madre. This environment is absolutely brutal for metal.
I was given a bottle of Cyberbrite (from @CYBERBRITE1) to test on my railing which is manufactured by Viewrail and is made...
It should.
size is essentially the same. Biggest difference that I can tell is the feet on the OEM vs others.
I don’t have one yet and am debating between OEM and aftermarket. This table idea is clever.
I traded my 2019 model 3 performance in on the Cybertruck due to the FSD transfer option.
I knew there was a zero % chance the HW3 would ever see true FSD without a total replacement of critical components and at the rate Tesla does things like this I figured the car would have 200k on it by...
