It does not require a USB port and comes in two styles: one is a fingerprint model that only needs to have its small battery replaced periodically, and the other is a password lock that requires you to rotate the password to unlock.

Right… I was actually referring to the unit hiding the USB ports inside the console. But the video done by the firefighter member here show that you can get a cord up through it. That said, it would have been great if it was powered by a USB… that would make it pretty awesome. Either way, I bought one.
