On the website the company says it only has a lifespan of 3-5 years. I find that confusing because it looks like the bed of the Cybertruck will easily last 15-20 years or more of heavy use without needing replacement.

In other words, the actual truck bed is tougher than the film that is intended to protect it!

The key thing to understand is that the purpose of our vinyl wrap protection is to preserve the aesthetic and integrity of the original plastic, which, as you mentioned, tends to scratch easily and has a greyish tone that many find less appealing over time while our material is scratch resistant.

While the Cybertruck's bed is indeed designed for durability and long-term use, the plastic components, especially the cargo bed surround trim, are more vulnerable to visible wear and tear. The 3-5 year lifespan of the vinyl wrap is an industry standard for such materials, reflecting its ability to protect against UV rays, minor abrasions, and environmental factors that can degrade the look of the original plastic. If you add ceramic coating on top of our protective layer it will help give it more UV protection and the black will have more depth.

It's not about the bed itself being less durable than the film; it's about keeping the bed looking its best throughout its long lifespan. Without protection, the greyish plastic can show signs of aging much sooner, detracting from the overall appearance of the truck. By applying the vinyl wrap, you're not only adding an extra layer of protection but also enhancing the visual appeal of your Cybertruck, making it look better for longer and scratch free.

Thanks for your interest and the feedback! I actually thought about that too since it would tie it all in, and while the material would bond to the slats, the challenge comes when the tonneau cover rolls in. Any material applied could either get damaged or, worse, damage the engine inside the roller. So, unfortunately, it's not feasible to offer a wrap for each slat. But we're always exploring new ideas, so who knows what the future holds!
