$17 48x36” bed mat from Home Depot

Saw it while buying a new faucet this morning.
Figured that for only $17, if it doesn’t work, I can use it in the garage.

But…

It fits great with the divider in place

I immediately got to put it to the test - held a lot of boxes and packages firmly in place without them going all over the place.

And yeah, I put this thing through its paces on the regular. People are always shocked when I'm rolling down the street with a massive load in the bed ?

This was what it looked like right before I went to home depot - nice load to take to the landfill

I love it..I've done a few 'dirty runs' ...my worse was a broken water softener....and the tank leaked SALT water into the bed.

I spend the better part of 2 hours with a pressure washer to get all the out of all the nooks and crannies.!

These are one of the best pictures I have seen of someone using the Truck as a Truck. I’ll definitely check out the mats. I already have a liner but the mats might help with cleaning as they can be easily removed. Thanks for sharing!

Really wish Tesla had designed the vault as a bed, couple drain holes in the low points and call it a day. Having to worry about salt water, hay, dirt, etc getting down in the working areas of the compressor etc highlights the fact that the people who designed this truck have not used a truck for truck stuff.

Nice cheap solution with that bed mat, going to keep an eye out for one that is a little bigger that I could trim to fit the whole bottom of the bed.

Oof! Yeah this was only about 2-3 minutes with my EGO Blower to clean out all the dirt and debris

I consider the current design to be much better. The bed is nice and secure. You can still wash and hose it. There are drains in the bed storage. In the future, Tesla could easily add “drain” feature to tilt the truck and drain any water through tailgate. If they had added drain holes, it would have attracted dirt for those who don’t use it as a Truck on daily basis! The current design is the best of both worlds!
