I just did 150 miles with it on I95 south starting at Rocky Mount No problems with it touching the yellow line at all it’s about the same for me as the last release. It’s staying mostly centered in the lane even when it passes.

I started driving around 4 pm and the sun was setting and the truck kept flashing the red wheel to take over. So I gave up and drove myself until the sun was gone. I really wish they could fix that.

Just got 2024.45.32.10 this morning (5 Feb, central MD); seems a couple of days longer from first report than previous updates, but that might be my impatience. :)

and, it will be a tough issue to solve since the truck needs to take into account of the width and depth of the hole AND surrounding traffic. If someone is next to the truck, it would not be wise to swerve to avoid it or if someone is behind, it is not wise to hit the brakes.
No lidar, no radar makes it a tough nut to crack, especially when the the weather is sub optimal. No matter how good the SW is

My guess is the cameras can’t see depth (as well) in a 3 dimensional plane as our human eyes can. However, I believe they can solve the problem with contrasting pixel images and enough training data.

With this 2024.45.32.10 update were back to unrelaxing stop and go traffic as it's not slowing down soon enough, also on a turn going over the yellow line that it hasn't done before. Regressed definitely.

I just got the update also... Southern Maryland. FSD still does not get me to work and back but it DOES pull into my driveway now!

There are supposed to be two cameras on the windshield (between the windshield and the rear view mirror - in addition to the interior camera). I don't move around so well anymore, but someone willing to get on a stepstool and lean over might be able to take a picture or even measure the distance between them. If that's nearly as much as the distance between human eyes, it's just a question of processing. :)

It's got a total of three forward facing cameras, a side facing and a side/back angled facing camera on each side, and a rear camera. People just have two eyes and two ears (and some people with just one marginally functioning eye can drive ok, although they probably had two functioning eyes at a young age when they learned the cues for depth perception other than just binocular vision).

So I think all the no radar/lidar complaints are questionable. A multitude of cameras (perhaps with better provision to keep them clean and from being sun blinded) are ample sensors if used effectively. Aside from being cheaper, they're probably easier in some ways, because visual illusions may be better understood than lidar illusions.

Humans don't have lidar or radar and they get by just fine... usually. Tesla will get it figured out. It'll take time just like it took each of us time to get the hang of driving. Now, it'll take a lot more time than we did but we got dem big boy brains. :p

I think I just said that. But you did use less words. :)
