I would be relieved if something happened to my truck internally and made it just suck. Then it could be fixed. Nothing that I know of, though.
Maybe you need some “minor fixes”. They are pushing one right?

Would love to have an option to turn on roof lightbar (Cyberbeast) when headlights are active. I like to run with my lightbar on with very low brightness.

Interesting. Do you find that blinds others?

I know they’re pushing 14.2.1 now, that’s all I’ve heard of. Same release notes (of course) except they say attention monitoring might be more strict. I’m hesitant to install that one, but at the same time I’m not gonna use it unless it drives better so I guess I don’t care about the attention monitoring.

So tell me this @hemiarch to see if I’m over reacting. I drove home from thanksgiving dinner with family tonight. Making a simple left turn on side streets the truck slowed down like someone driving for the first time and then it did a bunch of back and forth steering wheel jerk deciding if it should turn into a lane or the shoulder. Then I’m on a service road with a speed limit of 45. I merge onto the freeway and the truck stays at 45 despite traffic flying by. I give it some go then it slows right back down. Eventually I pass a 70 MPH sign and the truck goes 65 and no faster. I’m using standard because when using hurry or mad max the truck sits in the left lane and will never move, even when being tailgated.

Even 13.2.9 performed way better. Hurry would move over when pressured by someone behind it and standard would go with the flow of traffic AND never sit in the left lane.

14.1.7 was a godsend. It was smooth and confident everywhere.

You’re not over-reacting at all, but mine hasn’t done any of those things. It’s less jerky and more confident but a little slower. Not to react, but speed wise.

Maybe there’s settings I never looked at? Like with v13 we had speed offset and relative/absolute speed limits and a bunch of other stuff that went over my head (I used Tesla’s recommendation of 40% offset). Any of that for v14? I never messed with anything after updating to 14.1.7 and it drove sooo well. Don’t know what happened with 14.2 for mine.

One more thing. The 1/4 mile lane changes. 13.2.9 would blink for a while then move over for a while before eventually completing a task humans do in 3 blinks of the signal. 14.1.7 would just sorta… do it. In a reasonable amount of time. Same confidence as making a side street turn. 14.2 is back to being the 1/4 mile hero. I may be nit picking, but driving well under the limit and taking all day to turn or change lanes doesn’t equal safe. It equals being pathetic and could have consequences on the road, especially in this controversial thing we’re driving around.

I don’t know. Sorry to cast doubt on your opinion but if mine was behaving as poorly as you say I’d be resetting and fiddling with every possible setting.
Maybe even a camera calibration or something. I’ll leave that advice for someone smarter. Promise you I’m very very critical and It’s just not that bad.

I know you are and I believe ya. I know Tesla CAN do it because they did it already. I’m gonna give it a thorough look through when I get off work. I never adjusted anything moving from v13 to v14 and it was awesome. Maybe all the offsets reset or something.

There are no offsets that work or can be adjusted in V14.

It is however still better in the model x despite the “parity” of software
