Yes and no. Rivian is still advertising the $45K price, but that would apply to the single-motor RWD version. Rivian won't be producing that version initially; they are going to start with the dual-motor AWD version, and that's what the reviewers are testing.It looks really nice! Is that really going to be 45k though? Seems like it will be more.
The dual-motor version will definitely cost more than $45K. And on top of that, the initial dual-motor R2s will get some sort of additional "Launch Edition" markup (like the Model Y "Launch Series" or the Cybertruck "Foundation Series").
There will also be an even more expensive tri-motor version at some point. We are supposed to get full pricing info for all versions on March 12.
