The naysayers will say Tesla will not allow this....they may be right, but fierce competition from BYD Shark and other EV is going to force Tesla to improve the range and lower cost to stay relevant.
First in line to say not happening. Shoot the boot bet. Give you 3 years. Tesla will not allow on a large scale swappable packs for the Cybertruck. As in available on the web for one to do. Not a special one off by a service manager.

Beer poured in my boot and drink. Even invite you to watch.

What if Tesla builds it/licenses/sanctions it for a fee? Does that count?

If Tesla could build a home energy storage conversion kit for the used CT pack and put them on their virtual power grid to pair with this new pack sale the economic payback could be much higher than 30%. Volume makes everything more feasible.

Elon says energy storage will overtake Tesla automotive. I believe him. Lots of companies will make storage, and vehicles, but seamless integration with solar, vehicles, and most importantly the virtual grid is where Tesla will dominate the market. Reoccurring micro transactions.

I have thought of making a in garage floor solution for these used packs. Any removable pack really. Saw cut out the garage slab, drop in a rated lid/vault, add some moisture control and a simple flood fire suppression with a fusible link etc. All I am missing is the electronic interface which would vary by pack. Lots more storage than a power wall with very little space penalty. Cost should be much lower too.

You saw the bet. Sorry that's how it goes.

What about that last two paragraphs is nothing more than just tinkering? Have no idea what that is about.

I think you just need to read the words Elon says that you said above. Elon says tons of stuff. I like for many of them to come to fruition. Many will. It is just priority of things. He tends to move things around often in timelines.

I didn't want bet in the first place. I simply said "what if xyz" You admitted to be first to the naysayer bandwagon. Congrats on your win. I guess.
