Hi. I literally just picked up my truck today. Here’s the update.I just got a quote from Tesla for $211.20 to install my lightbar next week. It seems it should be included at no charge. Have you had that appointment yet and did you in fact have to pay that?
1. They wanted to charge me labor AND the price of the light bar. I had to repeatedly tell them via text that I have the Foundation Cyberbeast and that the light bar is basically OEM. It was only until I had the email Tesla sent to me that I was in queue. I forwarded the screenshot of the email to them. BE CAREFUL! As I was looking online for proof of lightbar for FS Cyberbeast, no where in my account profile shows that I am supposed to get a light bar. Even if you go on Inventory for FS Cyberbeast, the Lightbar doesn’t show as a featured. It’s as if Tesla has decided to not add it. If I didn’t have that email from Tesla, I think I would have to escalate it and who knows because I didn’t have any documentation if not for the email. Long story short, next time, screenshot everything. You would think from the VIN alone, it would have triggered that the Lightbar is included.
2. In NJ, they don’t terminate the wiring as it is a “liability on Tesla”. So the owner or 3rd party has to finish the wiring. I read that somewhere here but I wanted to corroborate it firsthand.
3. The Lightbar doesn’t show on the app but perhaps the fact that it’s not connected could be the reason why.
4. It does look sleek. It’s basically black and melds in with the tinted top part of the windshield.
5. The hack of entering a service appt for the wheel covers and the Lightbar worked for me but it wasn’t as smooth as I thought it should be.
