It blocks 99% of UV, but nowhere close to this for IR. It is close to 70% IR rejection.
You may be right, went back to their site, I don't see the IR broken down. Swear I saw a YT video of a "tinting expert" saying it was 99% for IR.. Due to some heat infiltration, I guess that can't be true. Regardless, it's making a significant impact.

If it ever does say 99% of IR blocked, they are playing games. For instance, look at this PDF.

https://www.xpel.com/web-assets/downloads/XPEL-PRIME-Spec-Sheet-USA-V2-1.pdf

The XR PLUS 55 has IR Rejection of 96% at 1025 nm. However, the IR Rejection is 70% over the entire IR Spectrum of 780 to 2500 nm. There might be film that rejects 99% of IR at one wavelength, but it won't block 99% over the entire IR spectrum.

Thanks so much for providing this... Who would have thought tinting could be so complicated???? I actually think I have the Blue 70% which puts it at 85%.

The Blue 70 rejects 64% of infrared. The 85% is the pretend number which is only for the 1025 nm wavelength.

This is analogous of saying 64% of people like a product and 85% of 5'6" males with green eyes, and brown hair like a product. By looking at only the 1025 wavelength, it is deceiving people.

Ok.. why are they only evaluating this band? Just to increase IR % or is there a scientific reason to do so?

**Infrared Energy Rejection (IRER) is a measurement of infrared rejection over the IR range of 780 to 2500nm that takes into consideration absorbed and reradiated infrared energy.

To trick people that don't know science and inflate numbers. There are no universal regulated standards, so they can do whatever they want to do.
