Took my CT AWD to my local tire guy for wheel rotation today. I put the truck in Jack mode and it was in park. The tech used floor jacks at each point, illustrated in the manual to lift the truck. He unbolted each wheel then took them in for air check and balance. As he was removing the last wheel, the truck theft alarm went off. I wasn't expecting that nor did I see anything about disarming the alarm in the wheel rotation section of the manual. The alarm only sounded for a few seconds then went off on its own.
Actually, that's the first time I ever heard the alarm and I didn't know it had an alarm system.

yep, it happens. you can also place it into service mode to prevent it from happening and also limit their speed to something like 8mph (ish?).

I'm to the point where I don't even allow techs to drive my truck though. trust no-one, verify everything.

i guess more detail is needed.
The tire guy's setup was a simple three stall garage about 30 feet off the highway in town. Just enough room to get my truck into their driveway off the highway. I wasn't more than 20 feet at the most from the truck the whole time. Prolly more like 15 feet at the most.
I thought just being that close and seeing that the little LED rectangles on the door posts were lit, I would think it prolly knew I was there.
The tech didn't need to drive it at all. Just worked on it where I parked it in his shop driveway.

That's really strange. I hope my alarm sounds before someone steals 3 of my 4 tires. 😅
