Ram TRX with Cybertruck on order
Country flag
One day I found myself in a weird Aliexpress rabbit hole of 33 pages of random Cybertruck stuff. On a whim, I purchased a bunch of crap, including these roof rails. Ordered 10/31/2024 and received 11/09/2024. Overall very happy. Built a pretty heavy duty spare mount and rack for my rocket box for less than $550.

Always remember to price in the stuff that didn't work out into the total price spent on aliexpress ^-^

But I do have more success stories than failures. But more failure than from Amazon, although the latter is starting to rack them up this year.

The vast majority of today’s buyers prefer to purchase faceless copies of the same sub-par garbage regurgitated under any given brand name. The country the goods originated from is becoming less and less of a reliable marker to indicate the actual quality of the goods.

All the "brands" that are selling Cybertruck stuff seems to be using the same suppliers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when multiple brands come out with the same "new item" within a week of each other, it seems like they're just taking whatever innovation and attaching their "label" to it.

Correct, in the majority of cases these products are not designed by an individual brand with the intent to sell under their own brand name but by a Chinese supplier manufacturing with the sole purpose of US market resellers white labeling these goods.

This is not always true (but it certainly can be). We get offered a lot of stuff, as I'm sure do a lot of the after-market companies. Some of it, maybe 25% is utter garbage. 50% is ok (but not for us), the remaining 25% is either evolved into a product that's exclusive to us, or passed-through as-is, but repackaged and with local support. We're really picky, likely to our detriment on occasions as our opinions may not be representative of the wider market, but that's how we've always operated. We're also never first for the same reason, for something like roof rails, they need to go through at least a couple of seasons before selling them.

The majority of products we sell are not just white-labelled, partly because the economics don't really stack up anymore, once you add on the import taxes and fees, which of course are not a thing if the product ships direct from China, or via the 'keyboard smash' rando companies on Amazon, that ship to fulfilment centers below the de minimis threshold. In theory that loophole is being closed off, but it won't make a lot of difference in reality.

So you're saying you skipped paying extra to the middle man resellers of cybertruck stuff? Its what I do too so I don't blame you :) Little research can save lots of cash.
