I did. Mine came out better aligned than my previous ones and are now rock solid instead of having slight movement when being pushed on. There is hope!
Cool, thanks. I felt my blood pressure drop a couple points...

I'm still waiting on a response to get these re-done. I honestly would rather take them off lol. They look like crap. Wavy, miss-aligned. Its just embarrassing.

Mine came out worse, but I have zero faith another attempt will make anything better, so will re-wrap and (hopefully) mask the worst of it. The OG rails were the best for me, and never looked like they'd fly off.

I took the weather stripping back 2 weeks ago and removed the Torx. I loosened the 8mm bolt without removing the frunk liner. Like a Wera Joker wrench is great at that stud nut for example; has the backplate to stop the nut from falling thru the wrench in a tight spot like this. Wrench fits between the cantrail and the windshield.
Took both my hands to push the cantrail into position which I could see it would / could get flush. The moment I'd let up to try and get to the wrench it would back off so I couldn't close the gap.
I also think that plate that it bolts too off the front fender must get bent due to it sticking out. Assumption is when they pulled the old cantrail off the stud bent it. Then they just reinstall the new one and now it sticks out. A bit of pushing on it got mine 60% better but I can't get it perfect.

Got mine today. Okay job looks worst than before. I suggest ya’ll wait for this fix. It could be one of the hardest to get the gaps balanced, side pieces flushed, and edges aligned. Mine has one or two spot weld joint that bleeds thru from the extreme heat.

Crickets. I havent heard back in weeks. Parts like $140. Might be easier to just order it yourself. I inspected further and my frunk was misaligned. Weather stripping broken off the wiper trim, plastic pins broke on the main cover. Zero confidence in service at this point.

I can’t even recommend this to family / friends and this point which is kinda sad. You’re trapped in 35 day service blender.

Here are the results of my replacement at the Bernalillo, NM service center. This is their 2nd attempt. Suggestions of how to escalate this?

Here is how things ended after repairs at two service centers and managers, and then a third repair with the help of a regional manager. This third repair got me 90%+ there. If you are on the fence I would say that the recall will give a more securely mounted cantrail, but not with factory alignment ( if you had good alignment).

Here is part of my last communication with the regional manager, who was concerned and helpful…

I wanted to thank you for your help in trying to resolve my issues with the cantrail recall, and to give you some feedback. Sorry for the delay, I was in the hospital for major surgery. I gave up on the quality of the results with Tesla service, but considered the cantrail overlapping the adjacent panel unacceptable and proceeded to try and correct this myself.

I was able to quickly (15 min) seat the front driver’s cantrail. It was as simple as backing off the retaining nut with an 8 mm socket, as specified in the manual above. Then pressing it in place, holding it in place, and then tightening it in place! If I were to simply tighten the nut, the rail would catch on and overlap the adjacent panel and stick out. I find it hard to believe that Tesla engineering finds that to meet specifications. If so, they are part of the problem. I also noticed that a combination wrench was used instead of a socket during at least one of the repairs, resulting in cosmetic damage to the applied backing of the rail. This is visible.

This is the result after my repair using only an 8 mm socket and hand pressure to hold the panel in place…

Mine bounces back like they bent the plate it screws into. Hit it with a rubber mallet a couple times but no luck.

Sounds like the mounting bolt is loose and not torqued down.
