"The pack can not be sealed due to varying temperature causing pressure changes" Thats interesting, I don't quite know what to think about it.
The pack is “sealed” around the seams to prevent water intrusion, but there are vents to let the pressure equalize.

No, No! definitely not. just accessing assurance that water will not get into the pack. I will need to drive it on the salt water beach. not intending on going in the water. planning to hose off the under carriage afterwards.
oh, then you are totally good. if you end up having to use wade mode at the beach, you are probably in big trouble though lol

REM, I am definitely not going to try and modify the pack or its pressurization or venting system. If I can NOT ascertain that there is no danger of salt water getting into the pack under reasonable conditions then I will not be able to get the cybertruck and be able to sleep at night. I'm not a fan of going for a drivie on the beach, but it's not my choice. If I'm convinced that salt water will NOT get into the pack then I will eventually get the CT. Reasonable conditions does NOT include driving out into the surf. Reasonable conditions mean momentarily crossing a 6 to 9 inch deep 3 or 6 feet wide drainage groin with wade mode on. Afterwards, non high pressure hosing down the undercarriage will need to be done. I'll have to watch Sandy Munro's battery pack tear down.

Let’s hope not. Bad idea. Tampering with the battery sealing system would in all likelihood void the warranty.
This is not how warranties work. They have to prove the modification was the source of the damage. The onus is on them, not you.

That said, the battery pack needs to expand and contract with a wide temperature gradient so this would be a bad idea.

Just rinse the truck off after playing in the salt.

One of the lofty goals Elon made a while back while the CT was still in early development was the ability to basically ford open water, as he wanted to be able to essentially boat across the small channel at Boca Chica to shave drive time at Starbase.

So I think small crossings in salt or brackish water should be ok. People in China have been putting waterproofing to the real testing since they see a lot of urban flooding.

I think you are right REM. part of me wants to be sure it's OK, and not take it for granted and the other part wants to know how it works, how's it done etc. I've been an engineer all my life. and have had responsibility for other peoples safety. Which by the way is part of why we should all be driving EV's. Hydrocarbon processing is dangerous and bad for our health.
