So I encountered my first time driving my CT at night while it was snowing.
I found it extremely difficult to clearly see the road as the running lights were lighting up the falling snowflakes.
Anyone encounter this issue.
I think it would have been safer to drive with the running lights off, but no way to be sure since there is no way to turn them off and still have the headlights on.
Or am I missing something. Thoughts please. Everyone have a great 2025

Currently, there's no way to turn off that running light. But you can try covering it up with black electrical tape to see if it is the blinding culprit.

I’ve had the same problem. I purchased a roll of 2 in. yellow taillight tape that can be applied as and when needed. Purchased on Amazon.

While I was having my windows tinted I had them add 30% smoke PPF to the light and it works great. Drove through big fat snow flakes the other morning and with the head lights on low it was just fine. It was very hard to see before during a heavy snow I know exactly what you mean. Now it is like any other standard truck. It was about $100 to have it done. Looks pretty good parked without the lights on too.

Wow, I just experienced this last night in Buffalo, NY with some lake effect snow. This is a huge problem everyone. The truck handled like a dream in the snow but it didn't matter because I could only see about 5/10 feet in front of me. Tesla really needs to just add an option to turn it off w/o also turning off the other lights.

Yep, same issue here (UT/CO/ID/WY). I’m gonna go the PPF tape method until there is a way to dim/disable. Ideally I would configure a way to simultaneously turn on fog/driving lights (eg Baja Designs) and disable/dim the running light with one button press. Still a lot of winter driving & roadtrips ahead of us.
