Hey, does anyone know of a shop that does brake caliper powder coating with a "core" exchange? It would be nice to just bolt on-off the old and new right then and there, with no down time.

Depending on your area, I have seen mobile service that comes to you and paint calipers on car.
Yeah, that is available here too but actual powder coating is like OEM. It’s more difficult but the result is super clean and durable. I don’t want the down time so an exchange would be ideal….

Powder coating and painting are not comparable. Ceramic coating will last a lifetime, hot brakes will cook paint.

There’s a reason OEM’s power coat instead of paint brake calipers! 👍

I used those same bolt on covers on my wife's 3, they faded badly after 2 years. I painted my calipers on my CB myself and they have no signs of wear. Took about a full day of prep and paint to get them done.

One of the forum vendors now sells $99 silicone versions. Says you don't even have to take the wheel off to snap them on. Anyone tried it?

Im guessing these wont work with factory 18" wheels
I’d guess not.
got a link to those silicone one’s? Wonder what colors they make them in.

I took them to a local Powder Coating shop. The cost was $550. Another $50 for the front recovery hooks (see pic). I removed the calipers and hooks, disassembled (except pistons) and then reassembled and installed.
