My point was not to specifically say it was the drainage tub but instead the actual departure angle clearance,
Well, your thread makes reference to a drain, of which the only one I know of is in the smuggler's cavity. There may be others for other cavities, but maybe that's the confusion in the replies to you?

I wonder if it would be possible to run a power cable through the drain plug so that, at night, I don't have to keep the vault open when it's plugged into the RV.

Of course, the ends would need to be unscrewed to run the cable. When driving, the plug can be pulled up through the vault, and it will anchor below the hole."

The bottom of the storage compartment at the rear of the bed has a removable drain plug so you can drain out the water and ice from tailgating beer sessions.
Like your Model S, the Cybertruck has a piece of thick plastic covering the entire bottom. AFAIK, the drain-plug drains on top of the plastic and then runs off.

Like others have said, and is the same in most vehicles, it's the hitch shank is what impacts the departure angle. For people that do a lot of towing, you'll often find skid plates installed under the hitch shank.

Thanks for this helpful clarification, I should be looking at a CT locally in a couple of hours and will get to see it for myself.

Yeah based on what others who have seen or read about this actual portion of the CT have reported, the drain plug does not drain directly to the ground but instead onto a lower panel from where it then runs off. Unsure if a cable with plug head would be able to snake through that without seeing it for myself first.

That's a tricky little thought... Also if you do need to drill through the bed to run a wire, around there would be a good place to look...

Because the Cybertruck is higher, it's a LOT easier to see it. No need to lay on the ground.

It appears that if the hitch cover (little box at rear) were rounded off or even just removed, there would already be a slight gain in departure angle.
