Just started working with America's Tire corporate office to explore the possibilities of offering a covered and "official" 18" wheel. They seem pretty dead set on not allowing the total height to be much greater than what a 285/75r18 (34.6") would get you, but they seem flexible on width. Right now, my understanding is that they're extremely concerned with liability for 18" wheel load, not so much the tires. Will update here when I hear more, but hopefully soon we can get an approved 18" fitment out nation-wide for their customers!

Let me know here if you have any questions or thoughts that I should potentially bring up with them.

Did they say why? 18" is a standard upgrade on a lot of trucks? Is it with the EV motors?
Nothing like that, it's much more political than technical. The short answer is that corporate has not released an approved 18" spec that the shops are allowed to put on the CT; therefore, if you take a CT to a shop now, they are not allowed to put anything smaller than 20" because they only put your vehicle on a pre-approved spec that the lawyers have signed off on.

Well,.... not really lawyers so much as the liability engineers ?

Yeah I figured it had to be political.... nothing should prevent 18s... which IMHO 17-18 is a perfect off road wheel.

From what I'm finding in the Southern CA region, if this works out they will be the first major tire/wheel shop to officially offer 18" for the CT and, thereby, cover it under their suite of warranties.

It also means that non-gearhead CT owners can upgrade to 18s without spending $1000 per wheel.

Ok, got new info on this. America's tire can't provide an 18" fitment still. According to them, the wheel companies themselves will not warranty their wheels on the Cybertruck for an undisclosed reason; therefore, America's Tire can't put them on since they cover all their work.

So sad. They do have 20"+ fitments, however.
