How can plan a trip, using country road , not what navigation recommend?

In the nav menus you can select avoid tolls, avoid HOV, and I think avoid highways. That should route you country roads

Be careful in Oklahoma, We decided to take the country roads (scenic route). The scenic part was the speed trap less than twenty miles off the interstate. OK is known for it and there is a song about it too.
