Had the truck for 2 months. Opened the tailgate to just look around and noticed cracks on both light bars towards the backside.

No abuse, weather has been perfect so not heat, see no signs of impact, etc. No idea what could have caused that outside of bad plastic or manufacturing issues.

Not a big deal. I did open a service request with Tesla. I’m waiting for them to respond. Until then, was curious if anyone else has had this issue or ideas on what it could be? Thanks!

Well shoot...that won't buff out...Let us know if they cover it under warranty - I don't see any 'impact' marks which indicate impact damage...

Abs plastic is the most durable for impact/crack resistance - however, it is soft...as it needs to flex too. I am not sure what that plastic is.

I’ll def keep ya up to date. Soonest appointment is Nov 29th.

Plastic feels soft. Can barely feel the crack, but it’s visually there.

No damage anywhere. Truck was babied and barely driven. Maybe Tesla accidentally slide some faulty light bars in at factory.

It looks like protective film on the pictures.
Good guess but nope. Just checked. Took a better pic. You can see the crack separation at the top.

Update: lights were fixed at no charge under warranty. No explanation what happened.

Overall experience with a loaner vehicle was nice. They mistakenly ordered 2 right side light bars instead of right/left so I’ll have to drive back a month from now to get the other installed.

Was also suppose to received the hubs but those weren’t there either.

Not upset. My expectation has always been low for any service center.
