Your option doesn’t raise the lowest crossbar.

The benefit of raising up the lowest crossbar to the same level as the tallest crossbar is to create a level loading surface for long items, as well as full access to the bed without needing to unload.

Like the one on this page that is unstuck and can ship tomorrow?

Video showing it can be found here.

YES! I want just such a setup for carrying my hang glider. I will also have something up front, I’m thinking anchored to the tow rings.

How much weight can that mount position support? I'm looking for a tent solution but I've seen things stating only a 220 lbs mount limit on the CT which... seems very low.

Oh I see, this would be for like ladder strapdown, etc. Light weight long stuff. Very useful depending on your trade.

Exactly. A level surface the length of the truck.

Surfboards - Longboards - Lighter Kayaks
Or
Up to 10 ft pipes PVC, ABS, Copper, etc.

The design would allow one to keep the existing position of the lowest crossbar, but allow one to remove the leveling kit when not in use.

Should this product exist?

The idea is a leveling kit that can be installed to your existing crossbar #4

Load capacity would likely be 100 lbs

I like your suggestion - I've seen one that offers something similar to your drawing.

I ordered / installed the solution from CyberTruck Co - great design but I'm trying to get a level straight line across all 4 - their lower 3 are level but the 4th (above the cab) is a few inches shorter - so I have to put board on top of that bar to make all 4 level (something critical to the item I'm carrying)

Thanks for pinging us! This is an interesting idea and we'd love to do a bit more exploration!

Currently we offer level bars that can be mounted between 2 crossbars, and have some prototypes that we're testing internally which is exactly what you described. The biggest challenge here is solving for stiffness of a single long beam as well as the stiffness of the tall support that sits on bar 4.

Once those design challenges are addressed and the cost for manufacturing such product is reasonable, we will definitely add it to our product offerings!
