Added a LockChime.wav file to USB and selected in ToxBox, custom lock sound, USB. Worked fine. I want to change. Replaced with new file of same name (overwrote) on USB drive. Selecting USB plays the OLD file sound. Removed USB from CT. CT still plays OLD file sound and oddly able to select USB although it's not even in the CT. Don't really want to format the USB drive (lose current cam files), but it might come to that. Anyone see this behavior?

I believe when you first selected to replace the lock sound with a USB custom lock sound it copies that sound file to the internal HDD. That is why it still works without a USB drive inserted. Not sure how you would replace it with a new one. I have not tried it yet.

Don’t quote me but…
I believe it’s something like with the USB plugged in, go to toy box and select any other option than USB for lock chime. Then unplugged USB write new file, install and go back to select USB for lock chime.

There is a thread in here somewhere with a member that describes how to partition a new drive for cameras, audio, boombox and such. May want to look that up.

I found the issue, I think. When the original source file was converted from mp3 to wav, it must have done something incorrect to it; the file size seemed very odd... It did play fine when done from a laptop. I redid the conversion and added to the USB drive again. Plugged back into CT. I chose one of the OEM provided sounds from Tesla, then re-chose the USB, and voila. It now works.

I've read elsewhere, that some keep a folder on the USB drive (e.g. Locks) filled with their favorite lock sounds. When they want to change, they copy the file from the Lock folder to the base of the USB drive (must be done with USB attached to a PC; CT cannot do the copy), and it works fine... Too bad Tesla won't let us browse a directory on the USB within a folder, perhaps a pre-defined name, and enable a new lock sound without resorting to doing via PC. A requested upgrade/mod for those Tesla employees observing this forum...LOL

agreed, future updates should allow for a multi select file on the fly
