I purchased the Magnetic Foldable Fast Charging Car Mount from the company CT Mods. The product came in a beat up package covered with Chinese characters. There were no installation instructions included. I attempted to contact CT Mods both by e-mail and telephone number listed on their website to no avail. I found various informational documents online, produced by other companies, explaining cable routing from the front screen to the center console, in the least conspicuous way. By the way, the cable provided by CT Mods isn't long enough to reach the center console USB-C port!!! I'm looking for advice from others who've installed products that required cabling in this fashion. What is the least conspicuous path to route the cable? What length of cable should I purchase? I this the level of customer service I can expect from aftermarket accessory companies?

CT MODS has a bad reputation on this site. Just send their junk product back to them and get a refund. Buy it from one of the other companies or Amazon so you have their return policy.

Personally I Recommend Magbak - have one in all three of our Teslas and most of my friends who have teslas use it too.

The device itself works well, is high quality, and they have great customer service in my experience.

I purchased the mag charger from magbak(someone already provided a link). It works well for me. They provide long usb-c cable with an extension adapter. It routes well and cable can hide under the mat. Only issue is that if you have your own case for your phone, it may not hold strongly enough for you. So to secure strongly, you buy iPhone case from the same manufacturer. Magbak also sells the case for your iPhone. This case attaches strongly with the charger. No issues.

The magbak is hands down my favorite. Have one on both sides, but if you hate the design or some other aspect of it, the Jowua one is pretty good too I’ve heard.
I believe this one or something similar is what people rave about.

I've used both Apple and other 3rd party Magsafe cases with it and have had no issues. But I have heard that some 3rd party case manufacturers make 'weaker' cases.
No experience with Qi2 cases for android here

Likewise, have used different cases but you cannot take my magbak case from me. Those extra telescopic magnets make it so you can stick the phone anywhere on the outside of your car.
pro-tip, skip the fancy screen protector (it’s ghetto and doesn’t last) and ,this is a matter of taste but I’d also skip the colored insert bits. They make the whole thing look kind of cheap IMHO.

I'm going to do this. How do you have it wired? Both to the back seat? I'm not using the one in the center console, and my existing magbak goes to one of the rear seat USB-C outlets, but from time to time we do have back seat passengers for roadtrips and I'll set them up with a USB-C cable.

Neither actually. I have all my front seat stuff which is ok to shut off when leaving the car plugged into one of these which has a pretty slim cable and is routed to the back AC plug.

That includes the baby monitor, Starlink mini, LED tray, flashlight charging station, behind screen hub that runs the air freshener and such, and anything else I want to run up front. (There are a couple open usb-c cables available up there.
Price is high right now but they go on sale a lot
The only thing I have plugged into the car’s actual USB’s is the input for my fridge and truck bed devils eyes battery so they can stay charged with “keep aux power on” option.
The little Anker charging station just lives right on top of the battery behind the fridge.
In particular if you have something that’s picky about USB juice like a Starlink mini, it’s nice to have 4 legit 100w PD plugs.
The back USB plugs are reserved for charging iPads on road trips.

It’s not super clear in this janky messy picture but please believe me, it just sits on top of that yellow battery.

I used an OBD II power tap. I've been meaning to make a vid on this, but things have been busy. It's an easier route to the OBD connector and the charge rate is lower, but it works well. I had to 3D print some hold-downs, because I couldn't tear the dash down enough to route the USB-C cable through it. It worked out well. I'll take some pics and post. Remember that the USB-C connector is a shared connector between the other two, so if the kids have something plugged into the two ports in the back, the power gets split three ways and the amperage drops accordingly.

Yes. It’s one of my favorite accessories of all time. Makes me smile every time I get in the car and whip out a frosty soda.
There are many many threads on this for your consideration but a dc install makes it quite a bit better.

The CT is a platform like no other. With that set up you could pick up some extra scratch doing organ deliveries even in hot AF Arizona!

So, as you already know I’m a person who sometimes goes a little too far with things.
ahem…ahem (cue scolding from wife)
I now use that thing as my fridge and this thing as my freezer.
