Website says 6-8 weeks for the AWD model in my SoCal zip code.

I have a gut feeling that larger incentives will kick in during Q4 after the $7500 federal tax credit disappears. CT sales and EV sales in general will most likely slow down in Q4.

As of right now (July 28), the Order page says "Available: 8-10 Weeks" for all three Cybertruck trims. That's using zip code 78725, same zip as Austin Gigafactory, to minimize delivery time.

So 8-10 weeks from today would be September 22 to October 6. The tax credit goes away on September 30. Tesla appears to be saying that if you order now, they cannot guarantee Cybertruck delivery before the tax credit expires.

For comparison, availability is only 2-4 weeks for the Model S, Model X, and Model 3. Availability is only 1-3 weeks for Model Y. So if you order a S3XY vehicle now, you should get it in August, and there should be no problem getting the tax credit. But availability is 8-10 weeks for a Cybertruck, which means that if you order now, you might miss out.

It seems likely that demand for all Teslas is surging this quarter, due to the tax credit expiration. And so Tesla is probably trying to increase supply by temporarily ramping production. But why are the delivery estimates so much higher for the CT? Two possible explanations:

(1) The demand for the CT is especially high.

(2) The supply of CTs is not ramping as quickly as the supply of S3XYs. Possibly the lead time for production of a CT is significantly higher, because its unconventional design requires uncommon specialized components (like imported stainless steel from Finland).

When I picked up my loaner CT they said Tesla is selling/moving existing inventory currently and they were shipping some of theirs to other sites as orders come in. I got a CB with 100 miles as a loaner.

I don't think it's production or demand. I think they are shifting CT resources to other products while they have excess inventory.

I read that 2025 CT production has been cut back since so much 2024 inventory is still sitting around.

In my area, there do seem to be a lot of Cybertrucks in Tesla inventory. But they all look like 2025s. I think the 2024s are just about gone.

Regardless, I do think Tesla is trying to reduce the inventory count. Tesla is currently offering three Cybertruck-specific incentives -- but two of the three incentives are only offered on inventory vehicles.

- Low Financing: 0% APR with the transfer or purchase of FSD; 2.49% APR without purchase of FSD.

- Free 20" Cyber Wheel Upgrade With All-Terrain Tires ($3,500 Value): available for inventory lease orders only.

- 1 Year of Free Supercharging: available for inventory orders only.

Ordered an AWD on 7/25/25, received the VIN less than 10 seconds after submitting, April / 2025 production with 17 miles on the odometer, currently on its way to my local delivery center here in OC, CA.
Ordered on 7/20, received VIN on 7/21 and could have picked it up on 7/23. East Coast. VIN build is 77,XXX AWD.

100% agree and some of us purchased a Tesla after they hit their 200k mark and they still exploded in growth.
That was in 2019 - and Tesla reduced prices for every model at the end of 2019/early 2020 by $7,500 across the board for every model. Really pissed off a lot of owners who saw immediate depreciation. Based on Tesla's current incentive pattern and maintained margins WITH the credit still in place, it's pretty clear that their MSRPs will come down by the credit amount on October 1 of this year.
