Just received the Cyber truck cooler for the frunk and cannot get the top to latch- the top seems aligned, however, the latch does not appear to be anywhere near close to engaging, Anyone else experienced this issue?

Just thought I would ask if there was some kind of trick to close it before sending it back.

Thanks

The cooler defeats the purpose if the top does not latch tightly.... going back.

Thanks for the response- cheers

Try pushing down hard with your palm directly over the latch. You should hear a click and it should latch.

I was able to close it, the issue for me was opening it back again; it takes a lot of force to open it and being and awkward shape is even harder.

Cooler is fine. Bring the the top and press hard until it clicks. Slamming it does no good. Press hard after you bring it down all the way.

I will give that a try- is the top rigid enough to lean on it without denting it- did not want to damage it if I was goin to return it....

press down where the latch is. No need to press on the whole top.

I have one as well . It’s pretty tough to open after pushing down on it . Presumably to make it tight . I was considering sending it back but I think it’s that way by design and not a fault ..

I agree, I have the exact same problem; closing is not ideal but much easier to do... the real issue is opening it after.

I’m having problems with this now, too. It’s hard to close and even when it does close, sometimes it pops back open within a few seconds. I got it closed then took it for a short drive in the frunk (with nothing in it) and it had popped open by the end. There seems to be a pretty serious flaw in the design.

Anyone else who’s had issues please chime in. I started a return with Tesla and will share a link to this thread with them when they contact me. Maybe we can get a redesign like we did with the cargo divider. That old one was horrible and the new one is flawless. Hoping for the same result with the cooler.

Oh, it sounds like maybe they purposefully need to be closed slowly by design. I'd bet that the shape of the lid and tightness forces a bit of a vacuum to form in the cooler.

I held off on this iteration because I'm really holding out on the obvious frunk 48v accessory powered freezer to be available. I'll pay lots of money. Need to be form fitting, and packed with features.
