Has anyone ordered a tent recently? Ordered mine a few weeks ago and just got it installed. Unfortunately, they installed the original version and not the redesigned version. mine has zippers and is a real pain to pack up which is why I wanted the redesigned version.

I don't think I got a used tent as when I opened it everything seemed like factory packed etc. But I definitely was expecting the redesigned version. I messaged SC to see if we can fix this. Curious if anyone else is seeing the original design installed?

Which part is not supposed to have a zipper?

Correct, the cover had a zipper and I read the experiences of folks where it was very difficult when packing up to make sure the zippers didn't get folded in. And I did it myself when I was looking at the tent today.. was completely drenched trying to get the zipper around the tent :/

Oh yes ok, the cover does have a zipper on mine but I don't think it's too hard to close it you get it in the right spot.

Yeah, I've heard that after awhile it loosens up and is easier to close. Just annoying since I ordered it expecting to not need to deal with that issue. Again, weird that I got that installed and just wondering if they have mixed inventory or something with the tents...

@Shygar curious if you've had any issues getting the latches onto the can trails. I had an issue with one side and couldn't lock it in with the plastic rod. Thats something I will need to figure out I think regardless.

I don't think I had an issue with this, I typically need to loosen it all the way out before attaching it to the peak but usually it locks just fine as far as I remember.

So I looked at the peak of the cantrails on either side of the car. I found my problem. On the driver side, there is a gap between the metal and the body where the attachment can fit. However on the passenger side, there's no gap.

I tried to take a photo but not sure its visible but basically there is no space between the metal and the plastic body so the clip has nowhere to hook onto at the corner :/

I was at the dublin Tesla today and looked at the cybertruck they had in the showroom and same thing. I wonder if they changed the assembly of this maybe due to the cantrail recall and this behavior changed which would be super unfortunate because it means the tent attachment can't secure completely to the peak :/

Mine attaches just fine to the peak and has the cantrails recalled already. They can be adjusted. I’d make a service appointment since they are both Tesla products and they will make it work.
They are not super hard to adjust yourself either but why do that? They will figure it out for free while you cruise around putting miles on a loaner.

I agree, make a service appointment. I've had my can trails replaced and have used the tent since then. I'll double check mine too see if it has the same.

BTW I emailed Heimplanet and asked if they have the new platform cover. Apparently they can sell it to me for 75 plus shipping. Sad they couldn't send it complimentary but what are you gonna do?

So I guess any OG owners looking to get the new cover without zippers, you can reach out to Heimplanet and they can sell you the new one.

That’s pretty cool. What’s in the updated case/bag?

Apparently the bag that holds the accessories/pump was also updated to a black version from the gray one.

Attached an image of the new bag that is black.

I’m sad people are probably going to buy the knockoff Chinese one now. The cybertent is such a cool product and clearly a ton of time and energy (read, money) went into designing and building it.
