Set mine up for the first time today. Instructions say the legs will "snap" in place. I never felt any sort of detent. I pulled as hard as I thought was safe without breaking it and the legs still easily folded without any resistance. Anyone else observe this?
Yes they don't snap, just pull them as far as they go without effort. Maybe they used to?

Just got my truck back with the tent installed today but haven’t had a chance to open it yet. Went straight to work after picking it up. Should it be able to slide back and forth on the brackets they installed? I can push it back and forth quite easily. Also hear a thump like it’s sliding backwards when I take off at a light.
doesn’t seem right.
there are supposed to be set screws that prevent this right?

No. There is a torx bolt that should be installed to hold it in place. The are also a number of other parts that should have been replaced. Probably should go through the installation instructions to make sure everything was done right.

Mine was mostly right. The corners of the cover was pinched when they installed said bolt so I had to re-install it.

Here is a pic of the bolt you seem to be missing (sans tent). I had to pick up a large load so removed the tent - I just screwed it in for the pic since the bolt hole is easy to miss otherwise.

So I took it to Tesla this morning armed with your photo so they took the truck back to the tech who then “found the screws somewhere” and apologized for leaving them off.
now that I have a closer look there are other screw holes that look empty.
I asked If this was normal and they said yes.
Just want to confirm this also looks normal to other tent owners.

How heavy is the tent? Was it easy to remove?

(really wished the Tesla Shop had more detailed specs, info, and pictures for their products).

Very easy. Has two handles. I'm not particularly strong (geek, works at a computer all day) but was easily able to move it around.
update: According to my bathroom scale it is 85 pounds. Doesn't seem that heavy - probably because it is so big but the handles make it easy to move.

Nothing in the other holes - I suspect they are there just so they wouldn't have to carry a left-hand and right-hand version of those rails. Same part works on either side that way.

You might want to take a peek under the tonneau trim at the front of the bed (with the tonneau open). Make sure they replaced the clips at the back with the ones with the white plastic release tab. Should look like this:

So I didn’t fully lift it out, but it felt like about 80-100lbs or so raising it. Not particularly scientific.
I’m thinking it would be fairly easy with one person at both sides but maybe someone else can comment.

Thanks for the details. Great to hear it can easily be removed by one person.

I installed mine a couple weeks ago. They couldn't deliver such a large box to my house, so they said I could pick it up. Things I really like that they redesigned:

1) the crossbeam no longer has screws you need to remove each time, but quick release clips. You have to swap out the brackets and two new screws provided.
2) No zipper anymore to break
3) No click when you fold out the legs
4) back of tent clips under the wheel well

it was very windy, but the tent was sturdy. I also bought a couple of air mattresses for it, and pillows. Very comfortable!
