yeah tbh ive never had anything like this ive always been poor, but when I finally saved up and waited for the reservation, it was more of an achievement to get one. so I never experienced this envy before. I do appreciate the parents asking if their kid can see it, so I let them take pictures but many times im like going to the grocery store so I dont have much time for a tour.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor my friend! Do your best to ignore the haters! @Cyber Man is right!

When the original iPod came out, I hated it.

I didn’t flip people off or tell them, but something about it bothered me.

I had an different brand mp3 player. It stored and played music, and it was cheap.

The iPod stored and played music, and it was expensive.

I couldn’t understand why anyone would buy an iPod vs the mp3 player I had. “It must be to show off those stupid white headphones to prove they have an iPod in their pocket.”

Then the iPhone came out. Same thing. I had a windows phone. I was able to go on the internet and do all the same things as an iPhone, so why were people spending their hard earned money on an iPhone?

When things went wrong with iPhones (overheat, fires, etc), I’d think “see!!?? It’s a scam!”

In hindsight, why did I care about products other people purchased that had nothing to do with me.

Maybe because I thought i made good, responsible, informed purchases. These Apple things kept popping up and people bought them instead even if I shouted from the rooftop and showed you can do all the basic same stuff for cheaper. I also didn’t have the money for apple products at the time. Could I have stretched to buy them? Maybe. But I didn’t want to.

In the end, all these years later, now I have an iPhone. In hindsight, yes, my old windows phone technically did all the same stuff. Just it was way worse in a dozen subtle ways. Software was slower and clunky, it didn’t update itself over time (had to get new ones to upgrade), the feel wasn’t as good.

Sound familiar? Now multiple that by 10 because cars are one of the most expensive things people buy so they put a lot of value behind that decision, and multiply that by another 10 because the cybertruck stands out so much, and people now know it’s expensive, making it an easy target for people who care.

As for positive people (which are 99 percent), I just give a thumbs up back. Some people just like cool / different stuff.
I agree. I gave my 2016 Model X to my daughter. If I didn't need a truck, I would keep it. Getting something new after each upgrade was fun and kept me connected to my MX. When I leased my MBenz ML350, the maps were obsolete and they wanted $1000 for updating them. I heard Hummer did not get an update for ayear and you need to go to the dealer to do it. When I bought my Model X in 2016, it was just because I thought it was cool. Buying the CT was an informed decision.

Bring the truck to local Cars & Coffee events. It'll give you more time to engage with interested people (if that's what you want.) Some of my fondest memories to date with the CT are showcasing the truck to families. People appreciate getting an opportunity to see it up close and learn more about them.

“A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of the sheep”
Approximate number of lions in the wild: 20-24k.

Approximate number of male lions: 6-8k! That’s probably pretty close to or more than the number FS CBs out here in these streets!

?

Meanwhile, as of the end of 2023, the global sheep population is estimated to be approximately 1.285 billion.
