This post by musk is very weird.

"telemetry was positive" what does that even mean?

Two, posting this info at large is uh weird instead of just handing it over to leo.

three, "confirming" it was either a, b, or c. Isn't a confirmation.

e: to add I clearly know he's trying to clean his hands of "it was the ct's fault" but just stfu for once.
Your post is weird.

Musk did a good thing in the heat of all the speculation and confusion by diffusing the situation with facts straight from the manufacturer of the truck involved before it got more out of hand.

The fact that you don't like Elon doing this just highlights how much you hate Elon's success. You have hundreds of posts like this one.

Maybe the “gas” pedal caught fire ?
Between us English speaking friends...there was obviously an "accelerator" involved.

Conjecture time. Has anyone seen an actual mortar-style firework explosion go off? Super serious explosion, especially when contained in the bed of a CT with more fireworks being ignited. That type of firework has the same style of explosion as a bomb would. It definitely is suspicious that it was parked at the Trump Hotel. Could it have simply been someone transporting these type of bomb-like fireworks (New Year's Eve) and the unfortunate happens? Seems like if it were a terrorist act that the driver would have exited the vehicle before. Hell, if it were a suicide bomber, why not crash through the lobby and then ignite the bomb?
You can tell by the amount of strong flameout after the initial compression wave that there was a serious amount of compacted accelerant involved. There are certainly ginormous mortar firework rounds that can cause major damage, but I do believe above a certain yield you have to have a slew of ATF checkboxes.

One of those being storage, transport, and definitely not parking next to a hotel lobby.

The fact that the doors didn't blow apart are a serious testament to the over-engineering of the truck. The glass performed very well too.

But, when he says that the glass on the very same truck fractured because of a hammer blow to the door, “he doesn’t know everything.” And he’s just speculating.

Now, he and the engineers at Tesla are back to being omnipotent. ?

Whatever supports your argument on any given day is what you will say. Literally, will say anything. Sad.

He objectively did not do a "good thing" by "confirming" it was not this or that.

Look, you and I both know that musk is reactionary. Sometimes a good thing sometimes not.

This is one of those times when he needs to shut up/sit down / and cooperate.

This is awful but if someone is going to do something like this I’m glad they used a Cybertruck.
It is indeed a tank and probably saved some lives.

My heat breaks for the innocent people nearby. That had to be terrifying.

Musk is a very up-front type of guy who puts the highest values on objective facts. So yeah, good thing. Transparency and truth is always good.

That's fine.

He has zero authority right now to confirm what this event actually was, and that's dangerous.

Good thing we have a CEO that isn’t afraid of the government and tells us plebs directly what they know.
Exactly!! I love how he handles China also and tells them exactly what they need to know…

Wonder if Tesla can tell from telemetry whether the bed AC outlets were turned on. Probably not, not very relevant to essential vehicle operations.

Makes me think the guy wasn't that bright though, unless he wanted to die with the explosion. While AFAIK one cannot control the AC outlets with the app (probably a good thing given the potential for dire abuse), less than $100 additional would have let a bomber get (probably) clear and trigger the detonation. I won't describe it, not running a suggestion service for terrorists and crazies here, but it's obvious enough if one thinks about it. There's enough consumer tech that a remotely triggered IED can be mostly off-the-shelf if one thinks along those lines.

Actually double dumb, a vehicle that's easily tracked (even if not by Tesla; since the cellular data connection can't be turned off, the cellular provider could still track it), and if Musk's tweet is accurate, the driver didn't even turn off data reporting. Little or no effort to survive or avoid being identified after-the-fact.

Ol man Biden calls the NO an attack, then proceeds to say they are investigating the explosions of a Cybertruck…..

Free Advertisement or trying to throw FUD.
