I recall in the TV series "Madam Secretary" that the titular character was angering her neighbors because the security detail not only took multiple parking spots on the street, but they were required to keep the engines running 24/7. (!!?)It's a huge risk. That's probably the reason why they SS hasn't incorporated EV vehicles into the motorcade yet.
I realize it's a fictional story, but I'm sure there are real and equally-bizarre security requirements that may broadly disqualify EVs, such as having an 800-mile range or some other metric they cannot meet. (Not to mention the national-security implications of having 360-degree camera views at all times...)
Also, a Federal agency has limited discretion when it comes to spending. They likely use fleet vehicles in a long-term contract that literally takes an act of Congress to change.
