I was watching an install video and noticed their hole looks different than mine. See how the soft material is trimmed around the edges? Whoever did mine just cut an “X” in the material and tucked the flaps up inside around the edges making the fit much more snug. Should I trim those flaps? Or should they stay so the material can’t shrink and pull back over time?

I think it’s same same. be careful of trimming as you want a super snug fit to prevent any water intrusion

Update: I left three flaps on and cut the smaller flap opposite the plug and then it went right in. Still snug but much easier.

I was also able to work with the short wire but it was really tricky. Lost it up inside the door a couple times.

Now I can’t decide if I should do the rear doors? I like the logo but I also like the function of the original lights.

They are okay not as bright as far as area coverage with the original lights. CT is parked at entry height

Just installed my back door set of projector lights.
lessons: get good pry tools. I struggled with the cheap plastic ones for the fronts. So hard. With some metal pry tools, the lights popped right off.
I anticipated having some short wiring and ordered some pigtails from Abstract Ocean. I didn’t need them for three out of four. But that last one was very short and saved me about $25 in aggravation.
So buy some nice pry tools, get some pigtails. In total that will be $20. But saves about $50 over all in aggravation units.

The lights may not be the brightest more functional lights but they are super cool and I need all the cool I can get at my age. (Well, I do need the extra light too!)

if someone in the San Diego area needs a pigtail, let me know.
