I think the Cybertruck may be so out of the box it won't follow the usual trim level names of the other Teslas. It the trim levels may not just denote different battery capacities / acceleration but different purposes each model is focused on based on their different options/features.

I think it'd be cool it they gave the different trims names instead of just numbers and letters. Cybertruck Sport, Cybertruck Overlanding, etc.

I'd predict 2-3.

1. Standard / base
  • 400 mile range
  • 15k-18k towing capacity
  • room for 6
  • 0-60 in 4.5 seconds
  • RWD
  • 6-foot long bed (Ram 1500 / F150 / etc usually have either 5'7" or 6'4" bed length depending on quad vs crew cab. Given that the Tesla has no need for a front engine compartment, by moving the cabin up just a bit they can shrink the front down to a frunk while still adding a few inches of bed space AND rear passenger space. So 6'0" seems a nice middle ground there, but I could also see 6'4")

2. Long range / hauler
  • 650 mile range (400 at freeway speed while hauling)
  • 30k towing capacity
  • room for 7-8 (or just bigger back seats for 6)
  • 0-60 in 3.5 seconds)
  • 4WD / AWD, possibly dual rear option for more weight
  • Longer bed - 8'-8'6" maybe. (F150 / Ram 1500 / etc long bed is usually around 8'.

3. Performance / sport
  • 650 mile range
  • 20k towing capacity
  • room for 6
  • 0-60 in 3.2 seconds or faster
  • 4WD / AWD
  • 6-foot bed of Standard / Base model.

I totally agree. It would be nice to have names rather than numbers and letters. They went out of their norm to name cybrtrk, might as well carry it forward.

Excellent insight and analysis. I am already getting goosebumps thinking about this. If this is the case, people might reconsider getting the Model X or Y.
