Finally had a chance to take a look at CT with my own eyes... Looks cool and all, but I am of two minds about all the plastic trim... It looks cheap to me. Is it just me? I wish it was anodized metal or something

You could have it removed and Line-X'd for a few hundred.

The cost for the manufacturer x/y'd to added value for the customer seems like a case of the juice not being worth the squeeze.

Cost for plastic, both the Tesla and the customer are far better than any metal. Plastics pretty forgiving for the sorts of incidental impacts you get on the bottom edge. Metal not so much.

Will see how it weathers, but i do not mind right now.. Might not last a million miles, but seems easier to replace, at the least..

I dont mind tbh. makes it cheaper to replace if/when it gets damaged/worn.

Also (probably idk im justtalking about of my butt here) allows for more compression/crumple in the event that you bang it against something, which would likely lead to less damage to other components.
