I was glad to see the CT drop the self-presenting door handles. Those are by far the most unreliable part of the Model S. Our X's auto-opening/closing doors have been 100% reliable, and I haven't heard of anyone else having issues either, so I'm fine with those. I'm sure there must be someone that has had an issue with them, but they seem to be fairly reliable judging by the lack of chatter regarding them failing.

Agreed.

Not installing door handles will cut manufacturing costs and helps the exterior look super smooth. No need for a separate laser cutting operation on the exterior SS skins for the door or tailgate handles.

Tesla could be going with this for the 'Frunkgate' if they take the idea to production. Loading the shopping will be easy! :)

I just love how you slip that "and" in there. I always had a soft spot for Zombies too.

Ok fine 2k sounds like a good deal...i think the solar tonneau might be in the $4k range. We will see! Would be awesome if Elon priced the quad motor in the $78k range to qualify for the credit. I would prob just do that if it guaranteed 500+ mi range.

Guaranteed? For an EV? Good luck with that. I think EPA range is calculated when the vehicle is sitting on a train. The only way to know is watching youtubers review that do 70 mph test. Not scientific but better than published range with so much variations for every company.

What would you do?

I direct this question to everyone.

My answer is: Cut the competition's price points off at the knees.

Although, I keep my fingers crossed Tesla goes with your answer, I would do what Tesla will likely do; Price it as high as I can sell at immediate production capacity. And lower the price, when sales show signs of slowdown due to price or high production volume. Isn't that their current SOP? Tesla has never been shy about adjusting the price quickly to fit current conditions. They may start high and read the market to adjust. The only issue here could be reservation holders getting upset about some of them getting different pricing than others but Ford is already doing that and people seem to keep buying them. With hopes that I am wrong and they start low and stay low.

Oh I know, i have a model y performance and I get l get about 260 miles per charge from the EPA 303. I meant i would get the quad because it meant i would be guaranteed the larger pack vs dual with 500 miles, they never said there would be a 500 mile pack for dual motor at launch. Again Hopefully they will have that option eventually.

I believe when they first were thinking of making the CT powertrain, they wanted something as modular as possible. All CT would be built exactly the same except for the rear axle. If dual motor just drop in a single motor in the rear and done!

If tri motor, drop in the plaid carbon sleeve dual rear motors in and done!

I now wonder if new roadster will have 3 or 4 motors, in order to beat the rimac nevera.

I don’t think we will see a 450-500 mile battery pack option for 2-3 years. Tesla and it’s battery partners need to get 4680 battery cell production ramped up to the speed of a Tootsie Roll factory first.
