I'm likely to use these, but I wonder why they need to extend so far away form the window with so much overlap of the stainless? Is it due to depth needed for fasteners and decision to have it a gentle slope?

Just looked up the reg in Virginia and these are NOT street legal for use in Virginia, BUT I also found out that there is no need for the center inside mirror in the CT because of the 2 standard outside mirrors.

There’s been two recent side mirror vandalisms in the DMV. Back when official specs were announced, I planned to remove them for this very reason. I may go ahead and chance it.
