New Video Update:

Tesla Cybertrucks joined Jalisco’s police fleet before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Mexican state aims to enhance security and project a modern image with the Tesla Cybertrucks.

Jalisco is preparing to welcome millions of visitors as Guadalajara, its capital, joins Mexico City and Monterrey as one of three Mexican host cities for the global event. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 13 matches, including an opening ceremony game.

The Tesla Cybertrucks are part of Jalisco’s broader security strategy to ensure safety during the international tournament. With an expected influx of over 5 million visitors, the state is focusing patrols in key tourist areas. Acquiring Tesla’s all-electric pickup trucks underscores Jalisco’s commitment to blending innovation with security.

Governor Pablo Lemus defended the decision to integrate three Tesla Cybertrucks into the State Public Security Department’s fleet.

“We also need to work a lot on the perception of security; we are going to deliver 678 patrol cars for the State Police, State Highway Police, and State Police, including some ‘Black Mambas,’ which are this kind of tanks,” Lemus said.

The Cybertrucks are part of a larger delivery of 678 patrol vehicles to state and municipal forces, enhancing capability and public perception. Lemus’ comment reveals one of the reasons that Tesla Cybertruck continues to attract buyers despite its out-of-the-box design.

I keep telling people they are looking at the next defacto police vehicle worldwide.

Maybe that's why so many of the crazies are unhappy being around them? ?

yesterday, I brought Cybertruck home through 48 hrs demo drive and parked on my driveway with suspension all high. My neighbors showed up and said it look so intimidating-I guess it'd be more BadAss with all the cop lights & add ups.

Well, one of them will not be me. Could not care less about soccer and would not go to Mexico on a bet.

The track width of the Cybertruck decreases by about 4-5 inches from low to high ride heights. This is handy on narrow trails but it makes it look a little silly in the highest modes, especially in paved environments.

What exactly does this mean? On extraction, it’s pulling in the tires?! Like on tippy toes? Not on my truck.

It is the geometry of the suspension. If you raise the suspension to high and move about ten feet, then set the suspension to entry, you will hear the tires scraping on the pavement as they adjust.

The Jalisco State Police added three Tesla Cybertrucks to its patrol fleet in May, aiming to utilize these vehicles as mobile intelligence units equipped with advanced technology to bolster security efforts across the state ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Back in May, Jalisco's Governor Pablo Lemus defended the government investment of 988 million pesos ($60 million) to acquire over 690 vehicles for the state's security department, including three Tesla Cybertrucks. According to a Jalisco government statement, the Cybertrucks are leased for 36 months following a public bidding process.

It pulls in a little bit, due to the suspension setup, but not 4-5 inches.

It’s absolutely true. Put an old carpet in your garage, park over it and put the car in extract mode. Watch what happens. The carpet will fold.

Would make a pretty good base for an ambulance box too.

I believe the Big Three (Ford, GM, Stellantis) all have special programs designed for law enforcement fleet vehicles (F-150 Police Responder, Chevy Silverado 1500 PPV, RAM 1500 SSV, etc.)

The Cybertruck could be a viable contender. May be Tesla should look into it too.
