if you’re this picky, then it wouldn’t have mattered if they were sealed or not from the factory. You were going to swap them out anyways to meet your expectations.
No, if they were sealed sub's, I would have been satisfied with that. I listen to music mainly, so a "tight" low end is important to me.

And even more startling: The line level audio signals are being sent to the speakers via the "CAN Buss", along with all the other digital signals! This means that each speaker will have its own amp. I hope there's no latency issues between speakers.
I’m not clear on the audio distribution, but the parts catalog shows speakers without individual amps. Maybe there’s one amp on each side?

As good as it might be, sealed would make it better with tight balanced bass. Cant fault tesla for not providing one as thats really high fidelity gear and that would likely require them to up the amp power and possibly driver quality as a sealed box requirement.

Bass difference would be like a pair of $350 Beats Pro headphones vs an audiofile grade set like the $1800 Fostex th900
Depends on a LOT of factors. I've built a few systems and the best configurations have a mix of ported and sealed.

The bus is perfectly synchronized down to the micro-second, so we should be all good there lol.

Was watching Zac and Jesse a bit ago. One audiophile reviewer who had done many gigs in studios over the years said better than he has ever heard in any vehicle. It is above studio quality.
