If I get a VIN assigned soon how long would I be able to delay delivery without losing my place in line? I want to hear from more non-tesla employees before pulling the trigger.

I’m okay with waiting a few months as long as my order doesn’t get cancelled.I highly, highly doubt you will be able to delay delivery for too long. Maybe a day. They aren’t doing to keep pestering you and checking on you. Then most likely they’ll skip over you and not assign another VIN for months. It sucks but that’s the blessing and a curse at this stage with the CT.
If you ordered a cyberbeast it will likely be a few months before delivery, maybe even late 2024 / early 2025If you get to the VIN stage it means you put an order in. At that point your only option is to take it or cancel it.
Some real world #s have come in from non-employees, link to that thread is below.
The TLDR is.
AWD CT Costs $113k out the door (may be more depending on your state taxes etc)
AWD CT has about 208 miles of range (AWD with AS Tires)
AWD CT takes about 1-2 hours to charge 10-80% (v2-v3 supercharger)

I have no idea where you are making these numbers up from.If you get to the VIN stage it means you put an order in. At that point your only option is to take it or cancel it.

Oh yeah, there were a number of people upset about being out of town, a number in Europe. It was maybe 10 days max and you'd lose it.At this point, these things are a hot commodity. If this is anything like the Model 3 launch, they will tell you your VIN and a delivery date and hope that you are ready to go.
I will be out of the country for a week in late June. Hoping it doesn't happen that I get a VIN while in MX. Because if I'm not back withing a day or so of my proposed delivery date, they will surely give someone else in my area a call, and that person will undoubtedly jump at the chance to move forward a few weeks. Then I will be at the mercy of when they happen to ship another truck with my configuration to my delivery center, and they deign to give me another shot.
Wow, making up a LOT of stuff today! If you ordered a cyberbeast it will likely be a few months before delivery, maybe even late 2024 / early 2025
There are indications that if you don't have the financing marked as complete, they won't even assign a VIN.You will need to have your ducks in a row, but I am sure they will give you a reasonable amount of time to secure your financing if you're not using Tesla finance. My guess is 3 to 4 business days before you lose it to the next person in line.
And when they were in the mass deliveries, one issue was they couldn't fit all the vehicles on the lot. They didn't have a place to park something for a week. While they have more delivery centers now, they still don't have much extra space. On the Model 3 pre order they allowed me about a week I think.
I had 2 days in Dec 2017 on the 3 or it was passed. Marina Del Ray.And when they were in the mass deliveries, one issue was they couldn't fit all the vehicles on the lot.
