Differences between '24 CT (AWD) and the '26 CT (AWD)?

long story, i've had the vehicle from 12/2024 till 8/2025. in the time I've owned it i've been to service 10 times. i've seen the service rep's child go from grade school to middle school in that time. each time was 2 days to 1 week with a loaner. i've had every issue listed in this forum. they took care of me but ultimately the FSD wanted to drive into the wall every time. they had a few specialist try to fix it but was not able to.

i asked for a buyback but they said it would take at the very least 30 days to get a response to start the process even if they agreed. federal tax credit ends at the time on 9/30/2025. if i rolled the dice i would get a response by the last week of sept before the cut off but im not a gambling man. i asked for a trade in quote instead. they came back 71,600 for a 2024 with 4500 miles. i was thinking in my head 71,600plus 7,500 federal credit im at 79,100 and i have referral credit of 2,000 im coming out ahead!

from quote, 71,600 to actual offer 67,600 i ended up taking a slight loss on the trade in. to me it was worth it i suppose i get a brand new 2025 and get to start over and hopefully no issues like the 2024. financing was also better. 2024, 5.89% for 72 months vs 2025 2.49% for 60 months.

i did have some service issues with the 2025 but i've only been there 2 times for the 2025, so far.

Reasonable question. FSD transfer happening now, w/o the ability to buy later was what initially peaked my interest, followed by lower APR, build quality improvements, and finally grey interior (I have white). My truck is largely paid for. I owe a little over 20k, and they were offering $75k in trade for my truck. Yes, I'll take a hit, but fortunately I'm in a place where I wont lose sleep.

I don't really have build quality issues that bother me, but I suspect issues might creep up later since its an early unit.

I plan on driving a CT as long as they make them so might as well get one where they have worked the obvious issues out.

The CT went through a cell change last fall. The Y is getting them because the production is going well and they feel they can scale the production. Also why they can offer a new CT trim to test the price issue.

I know they announced their use in a prototype, but I can’t find a link confirming they are being used in new models. Grok says yes, but all the sources are from these forums.

You won’t get confirmation unless you pay for a teardown test from an engineering firm specializing in that.

QUESTION:
What vehicles are Tesla using dry anode and cathode battery cells? The Cybertruck, 4680s?

ANSWER:
Right now, as of February twenty twenty-six, Tesla’s finally cracked full dry-electrode production—both anode and cathode—for their 4680 cells, all made in-house at Austin.
They’re using those in certain Model Ys, basically to beef up supply and dodge trade headaches. Cybertruck? Yeah, it was the first big user of 4680s, but production’s slowed way down—sales aren’t great—so Tesla’s redirecting those cells away from it toward the Model Y instead.
No solid word yet on Cybertruck getting the upgraded dry version soon; looks like Model Y’s the priority rollout. Could shift later, maybe for Semi or Cybercab, but that’s speculation. Pretty cool milestone though—cuts costs and simplifies everything!

Definitely with cover caps and let them have

This is the answer that I got from grok for anybody who is in the same situation or just curious
From what Tesla’s official FAQ lists, your Foundation Series Cybertruck came with these bed/vault extras as standard:


• D-Rings (four of them bolted into the bed floor for tie-downs)


• L-Track Bottle Opener (that cool little aluminum popper that clips right into the L-tracks)


• L-Track Hooks (for extra securing spots)


• Gear Locker Dividers (those organizers in the vault)


The bottle opener and D-rings are what you’re probably thinking of—they’re Foundation-specific goodies.


For the 2026 Premium All-Wheel Drive, those aren’t bundled anymore. The L-Tracks themselves are still there (they’re on Cyberbeast, Foundation, and Premium AWD), but the bottle opener, extra hooks, and D-rings? You’d have to buy them separate from the shop—like twenty-five bucks for the opener, forty for a pair of D-rings.


So if you’re swapping stuff over, pull out the bottle opener and any spare D-rings or hooks—they won’t transfer as “included.” The base bed setup stays the same, though.

The rings on the side wall of the truck come installed. The ones on the floor of the bed do not, nor do the ones you self install on the L track. Oddly, they gave another charger.

I also heard the front door panes have new part numbers and use either butyl or some other sound deadening to prevent thumping / resonance at high speeds and strong cross winds.
