After I picked up my truck this past weekend. I noticed some rust on the center cap hubs. I know it’s pretty common but the OCD in me decided to take action. For those that want to remove it, it’s very easy. My preference was not to use a wire brush because it’s not as smooth of a finish like original.
The solution is to use a Scotch Bright Pad and a bit of elbow grease. You will need to cut the pad into 1” x 2” pieces. The reason for this dimension is so that it can slip inside of the hub since you do not need to remove your wheels for this process and it won’t stick out enough to mar your rims. Insert long length parallel with the wheel hub and rub in circular loops. Do it as much as you need and fit into crevices but the end product should leave you a hub that looks pretty much like new. Enjoy!
