My 1-year is next month, should I make any last minute service appointments for issues that may expire after the first year? Not sure if there are any but wanted to ask just in case…
I’ve already had my local SC fix a door alignment, a door internal grinding sound, adding a couple tonneau cover slats, replacing frunk top seals that were getting loose (the seal adhesive lost grip, maybe from the windshield washer fluid dissolving the adhesive), replacing the top frunk cowling (was missing a few grommets and a broken plastic alignment flange on the underside), ran a coolant pressure check and cleaned up dried coolant spray from behind the frunk (lots of white dots and a few streaks by the coolant bottle reservoir cap and on the back side of the frunk tub, they said probably from the factory). Still trying to convince them to fix a door rattle, and they said come back in a couple weeks to replace the phone charger. The corrosion on the wiper motor support has me worried, thinking the wiper fluid is eating it up slowly, they said it was normal for some discoloration but seems to be pitting it. Other than a few panel and trim minor alignment issues to have them look at, I think I got most of the issues talked about on this forum taken care of. Any thoughts?

I would sell it for salvage based on those pics. ;)

In reality the one-year mark means nothing. You have 36 months or 50k miles to deal with any warranty-related issues. Tesla does not provide free service on anything, just warranty repairs.

I’ve seen people with Model Y/3 pay the one hour shop fee for the tech to go over their vehicle right before warranty expires. They usually find worn/bad Suspension issues and replace it under warranty. Worth it in my books.

I currently have an issue with a squeaky driver seat. When I took it in, they told me I’d have to have a technician ride with me. I didn’t have the time to go for the ride. The service tech then told me I had 12 months from purchase to get this resolved because after that it’s not covered. So I imagine there are other things besides a squeaky driver seat that may not be covered after 12 months. Good luck with your issues.

Issues that are deemed cosmetic noise related vibration related other things like that are usually a 12-month and they may start charging you a fee if they cannot duplicate the same situation under their circumstances that Tesla deems out of spec.

Most usually see threats starting with. Why am I being charged a diagnostic fee when my car is under warranty and they're trying to find a vibration or a wind noise and people are annoyed.

Tesla like other manufacturers at some point has to draw a line at someone being a pesky annoying customer and someone that genuinely has a concern.

I could imagine someone saying I'm going to set in the service appointment every week for the next 52 weeks to annoy the piss out of the service people. My car is still under warranty.

I do think it is a good idea though, however, to find those suspension pieces and other issues and it's good to bring it to the that to the attention at Tesla before they can claim. Oh well, you just let it kind of slip by and didn't take care of the issue. So sooner the better.
