It’s all pure speculation at this point.

I predict Tesla will be sending e-mails to all $59,990 reservation holders soon. Tesla will attempt to upsell customers by offering a “get an accelerated Cybertruck delivery“ by offering a discount on the $79,990 Premium trim ($5k?). This offer would bump SAWD reservation holders to the front of the line. This offer would be very tempting to reservation holders who are expecting delivery sometime in 2027.

Is Info available on how many orders were placed for the base AWD? I‘m curious how many 59k versus 69k‘s have been ordered.

do we know how many RWD’s were actually purchased?
Enough to make them feel ok about taking the PR hit of fucking everyone over with FSD transfer.

No one has that information except Tesla. Tesla has not shared it.

Independent analysts try to get an idea of Cybertruck model sales by looking at state vehicle registration data. The registration data includes VINs, and the VIN is coded differently for a tri-motor (Cyberbeast) vs. dual-motor (AWD) vs. single-motor (RWD).

But the VIN won't distinguish a base AWD from a premium AWD. There may not be any way to get that info, unless Tesla offers it up.

Officially, no. But analysts can distinguish RWDs by the VIN, as noted above. I believe the best estimates for RWD sales were on the order of a few hundred. Probably the least popular Tesla model of all time.

Correction: the base AWD actually might have a distinctive VIN. But no base AWDs have been delivered yet, so we haven't seen any VINs and don't know for sure.

Known combinations of VIN Digits 6, 7, and 8 include the following::

GEC = RWD
HED = Premium AWD
HEE = Cyberbeast

The base AWD should be either GED or HED. If it is GED, then that would be distinctive, and it should be possible to estimate deliveries from state vehicle registration data. If it is HED, that would be the same as a premium AWD, so no distinction would be possible.
