I made sure all doors closed, started service and ran the hvac test w a failure. It’s -40f out and -23f in the cabin.

Would driving to supercharge from 86%-100 possibly thaw out the system?

Or do I need anchorage service visit?

My neighbor was kind enough to allow me to park inside for 4 hours!

I was not too happy when the app climate control sequence was failing like before, I then walked over and inside using the screen I was astonished to hear and feel somewhat room temperature air venting! Cranked it to high and out 5 miles on the back roads just to get it all moving!

I still have the gearbox fluid error a251 I think, that does resolve in warmer flux’s but at -40 & lower it seems to stay on, hopefully not a real issue

Another ct owner stated same error and has a service in anchorage next week, maybe he’s online here? Fairbanks to anchorage

I was up in Vermont last week. Not as cold as you, but -10F and I got the “Gearbox Fluid Service Required” message. I contacted the service center and their response was that it was likely due to colder temps and to drive as normal. Once I returned to a balmy 30F it disappeared and has not returned. I kept my service appointment just in case, but it seems like the colder temps affect the sensors. I searched these forums and other sites and it confirmed my suspicions

Yes I had the same error last year and was told firmware bug, clearly not addressed to be since a year of firmware updates but I’ve seen a few cases they actually replaced parts and or topped off the oil

I just had it pop on in the middle of a road trip from Boise.

Any updates on what Tesla said?

I had this notice when I was in N Québec last year. It was -22F. I am trying to arrange a Q Hydro visit in the winter to the furtherest place from anything in NA trip. I was up there last year. Cold is fun.
